KOTA BHARU: Kelantan Barisan Nasional ( BN) chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed has denied that he held a secret meeting with Kelantan Menteri Besar and state PAS commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yakob regarding the allocation of seats for the coming 14th General Election (GE14).

Mustapa, who is also Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee chairman, said it was not true and was unfounded because the BN was bent on winning back the state from PAS.

“I have never discussed this with anyone more so with the Menteri Besar ( Ahmad). We ( just) cooperate in certain cases such as floods, investments and matters of interest to the people of Kelantan.

“( The ambition to win over Kelantan) is still the same ... no change. We are fighting to take over the state government). My men are quite excited and God willing we will continue the efforts and hard work to make sure the long wait will become a reality,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after officiating at the closing ceremony of the of the Oratory Competition for the YB Tok Pa Cup organised by the Kelantan Graduates Association ( HIMSAK) at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan ( UMK) campus in Pengkalan Chepa here yesterday.

The three- day oratory competition began on Friday and ended today with 83 orators taking part from among university students, schools and the general public.

Before this, the claim that Mustapa held a private meeting with Ahmad to discuss the cooperation between PAS and BN regarding the allocation of seats in the coming GE14, went viral on social networking sites. — Bernama
