Ex-police association Miri branch elects new exco
MIRI: The Miri branch of the Malaysian Ex-Police Association held its biennial annual general meeting recently to elect new executive committee members and office bearers for the next three years ( 2017– 2020) instead of every two years as previously practised.
Before the association’s deputy permanent chairman Stanley Ngau Jau Eng dissolved the 2015– 2017 executive committee, the chairman for the 2015–2017 term Supt ( Rtd) Han Hipeni advised all members present to be more proactive.
“When we run the association, the enemy is not from the outside, but from within ourselves. The worst enemy in ourselves is our ego; so get rid of the ego and move forward to face the challenges,” Han, who retained his position as the head of the association for the 2017–2020 term said.
Also present was Sarawak ExPolice Association chairman Subri Aman who travelled from Kuching to witness the smooth running of the meeting.
In his short speech, Subri reminded association members to be firm, professional, trustworthy and have integrity. He also emphasised that the Miri branch is considered the most active in Malaysia.
The line-up of the new exco which also saw the addition of two women are permanent chairman of the association DSP ( Rtd) Wegner Lisa, deputy permanent chairman Stanley, deputy chairman ASP ( Rtd) Abang Bolhassan Abang Rabaiee, secretary Zainal Matzain and assistant secretary Najimen Rahmat.
The treasurer is Hamdan Mat and Junaidi Adam is the information chief, while the internal auditors are Peter Tang and Raymond Kon. The elected committee members are Omar Puyun, Edawaty Abdullah, Lucy @ Jane Nya, Salmah Drahman and Gilbert Banjie, while the appointed committee members are Morzinah Robial Huk and Nancy Sidik.
