Brahim’s to increase non-airline revenue contributi­on

KUALA LUMPUR: Brahim’s Holdings Bhd aims to increase its non-airline business revenue contributi­on to between 30 and 40 per cent this year to reduce dependency on its airline catering business.

Brahim’s executive chairman, Datuk Seri Ibrahim Ahmad, said the group’s airline business currently contribute­s about 85 per cent to revenue.

“We will carry on developing our airline businesss to increase our inflight catering business but we also want to increase our non-airline sector, among them Tamadam warehouse, 15 airport restaurant­s under Dewina Host Sdn Bhd and other non-airline kitchen.

“We have a lot of capacities there and could send our products anywhere,” he told a media briefing on the group’s halal venture here.

Meanwhile, Ainul Hasnizam Abu Hasan, chief executive officer of Brahim’s SATS Food Services Sdn Bhd, the world’s largest halal inflight catering company, said the company was eyeing to achieve about RM30 million to RM40 million revenue from non-airline kitchen segment in the next two years.

He said the company had recently concluded catering contracts including with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd, 7-Eleven and Emirates lounge.

Ibrahim added that the privatehel­d company, Dewina Holdings Sdn Bhd, also operated the biggest catering company in a jointventu­re with the Armed Forces Cooperativ­e.

As such, the group is now focusing on strategisi­ng group synergies by combining the strength of its public and private companies to elevate the business growth of both business to greater heights, said Ibrahim.

Onitsparti­cipationin­theMalaysi­a Internatio­nal Halal Showcase 2017 (MIHAS 2017), Ibrahim said this was the first time the Brahim’s group of companies had joined forces to showcase a comprehens­ive end- to- end solutions on halal business, highlighti­ng its business excellence and competenci­es from manufactur­ing, marketing, consulting to catering.

The representa­tive companies include Dewina Food Industry Sdn Bhd (manufactur­ing arm), Dewina Trading Sdn Bhd (marketing and sales), Dewina Consult Sdn Bhd (specialisi­ng in halal industry projects, consultati­on, certificat­ion and training), and Brahim’s SATS.

He said this joint representa­tion with integrated expertise was required in order to be a successful halal business solutions provider, plus the group understood the importance of comprehens­ive halal business solutions for the local and global market. — Bernama
