Two women in suicide bids on same day
KUCHING: A young woman survived a suspected suicide attempt after family members rushed her to hospital early yesterday morning.
The 21-year- old from Sungai Apong is said to have hung herself in her bedroom using a bedsheet tied to the ceiling fan around 5am.
Her family members rushed the unconscious victim to Sarawak General Hospital ( SGH) where medical personnel managed to revive her.
She is still warded in hospital following the incident.
In another suicide bid, a woman was sent to SGH after she drank a mixture of bleach and traditional medicine.
The victim from a housing estate at Kuching- Serian Road was brought to hospital around 9am yesterday by a male acquaintance who told medical personnel what had happened.
The woman’s condition stabilised after treatment, and she left with her friend.
It is unclear what had prompted her to consume the bleach.
