Records officers take part in ‘One File, One Week’ campaign

KUCHING: Sarawak State Library will once again conduct a ‘One File, One Week’ campaign from Apr 17 to 19.

This time around, a Training on Records and File Management will also be held, the sessions participat­ed by Records Officers from 12 Resident Offices in Sarawak.

The campaign and training will be held in three modules namely Module 1: Briefing on The Best Records Management Awards of the Year and Records Management Training to be held on Apr 17, Module 2: Practical in Records Processing on Apr 18 and Module 3: Transfer of Records to State Records Repository on Apr 19.

All the three modules will be held at the State Records Repository from 8am - 5pm.

A short briefing on The Best Records Management Award will be followed by Records Management Training to be implemente­d before the audit session in all Resident Offices.

The campaign aims to create awareness among government department­s and agencies on the importance of proper management and maintenanc­e of records and archives.

In addition, the campaign encourages the transfer of systematic records and archives of government department­s and agencies to the State Records Repository.
