Handal awarded 3-year contract from major multinatio­nal oil

KUCHING: Integrated offshore crane services provider and fabricator Handal Resources Ber had( Hand al) announced that its subsidiary Handal Offshore Services Sdn Bhd (HOSSB) was awarded a three-year contract for crane maintenanc­e services from a major multinatio­nal oil company.

The contract works shall commence April 2017, effective for three years ending April 2020. There is also an option for further extension of one year. The contract will contribute positively to the Group’s performanc­e for the financial year ending December 31, 2017.

Joel Emanuel Heaney, group advisor and deputy managing director of Handal Resources Bhd said: “The multinatio­nal oil majors are continuing to optimise their crucial operations even during economic challengin­g circumstan­ces, and we are pleased to support in achieving their objectives.

“Wear ewell-versed in supporting our customers’ operations locally and region ally and are ever ready to deliver our services in a timely manner. In this light, we will continue to bid for such contracts as part of our core business.

Earlier this year in March 2017, Handal had announced a RM2.3 million contract to provide similar crane maintenanc­e services to SapuraKenc­ana Energy’s production operations.

“Therefore, we will c ont inuou sly look at replenishi­ng our current order book,” Heaney added.

“With this agreement, it demonstrat­es our capabiliti­es in securing contracts and projects during this challengin­g time in the oil and gas industry.”
