Developer pledges to complete new SJK(C) Stampin in 12 months

KUCHING: San Chin-BBCJV Sdn Bhd (San Chin-BBC) has pledged to complete the new SJK(C) Stampin building in 12 months.

Its managing director Lee Chin Teck said the project, a key feature of the Gala City integrated developmen­t project, worth RM17 million would be fully funded by the company, including the relocation of the school as well as the constructi­on of the new school building comprising 30 classrooms.

“The new SJK (C) Stampin will have 30 classrooms to accommodat­e up to 1,000 students, meaning to say the school will groom a lot of children. As the contractor, I will make sure that the school will be delivered with good quality adhering to all specificat­ions.”

Lee said this in his speech during the ground breaking ceremony of SJK(C) Stampin ( new site) yesterday, which was officiated at by Minister of Education Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid. Also in attendance were Minister of Local Government Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian and Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing Datuk Fatimah Abdullah.

He noted as the school would be surrounded by multi-million ringgit worth of residentia­l area, the school architectu­re will blend in.

He also said with the relocation of the school, traffic congestion­s would be a thing of the past.

Lee expressed his gratitude to the state government for assisting in the land swap in order for the school to be relocated and waiving of the land premium worth RM1.8 million.

“This shows that the Malaysian Government under Barisan Nasional ( BN) is a very businessfr­iendly government, be it at federal or state level.

“It will be the best school and with the savings of RM1.8 million, I will try my best to complete the school in 16 months; if the weather permits within 12 months.”

Lee also pointed that besides owning a property, buyers are doing a good deed as a certain percentage of the profit will go to the rebuilding of the school.
