Civil servants urged to provide efficient services
BINTULU: Excellence is not only measured by achieving set targets but must also be reflected through efficient services and high integrity, said Tatau education officer Mohadi Mobin.
He said as a government machinery responsible in implementing policies, civil servants especially educators must focus all efforts and energy towards effective service delivery, efficiency, quality and transparency to ensure the success of the country’s goals.
“The working culture that combines discipline, responsibility, integrity and accountability must become the identity of all educators and staff.
“In addition, the human element should be applied when addressing certain issues,” he said at the Excellent Service Award (APC) Ministry of Education, Bintulu Division level ceremony recently.
A total of 243 individuals received the awards during the ceremony which was officiated by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun.
Mohadi said the government is committed in recognising excellent working culture by civil servants by introducing excellence awards and rewards.
“From this APC, I hope it can encourage officers and educators to continue giving their full commitment and efforts to improve their productivity, thus making the government service in education sector remain relevant and trusted by the people to meet their needs and expectations,” he said.
This recognition he added should create a healthy competition among the officers and staff to prove their ability and competency in giving the best service.
“Make this recognition as a starting point for us to move forward towards greater excellence and be a role model for others to continue to work hard to achieve our goals,” Mohadi said.
Meanwhile Entulu congratulated all recipients and hoped they would continue giving the best services to the country.
“We politcians respect the educators because they are the closest to the parents and never give up to bring the best out of the children,” he said.
He added in some cases, teachers were willing to collect funds to help poor students to buy school equipment.
On behalf of the government, Entulu expressed his appreciation to all educators who had served and contributed towards the development of human capital for the country.
