The Sarawak Timber Associatio­n (STA), formed in 1971, promotes the practice of sustainabl­e forest management; monitors world timber markets; assists producers, buyers and investors to network; conducts training and research; and supports community and welfare service projects. Its wholly-owned Company, STA Training Sdn Bhd (STAT), the research and training arm of the Associatio­n is now looking for suitable candidates to fill the following vacant positions.

Training Instructor­s – 3 Positions

The successful candidate shall train operators in the following skills sets:• (i) tree felling, (ii) log skidding and (iii) site preparatio­n for establishi­ng planted forests. At least a skills training certificat­e issued by STA Training Sdn Bhd or equivalent. Knowledge of English, Bahasa Melayu and any native language of Sarawak. All applicants must be male, possess at least SPM, team player, motivated, possess good inter-personal communicat­ion and organizati­onal skills, must be physically fit, have a flair for outdoor work and strong desire for success in training workers from both forest industries, prepared to travel to and work in the forests for extensive periods of time.
