Cops record statement from Peter Chong on pastor Koh’s disappearance
SERDANG: Police have taken statements from activist Peter Chong to assist investigations into the disappearance of Pastor Raymond Koh Keng Joo, 62, who was reported missing since February.
Chong, who is also assistant to Subang MP R. Sivarasa, was allegedly missing since April 6 but arrived at the KL International Airport ( KLIA), on April 6 from Pattaya, Thailand.
Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said Chong’s statement was taken at the Selangor police contingent headquarters on April 19.
“Initial investigations revealed that he ( Chong) was actually in Thailand but his claims that he was kidnapped is still being investigated,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
Fadzil said the police have not yet received an official report from the Thai police in connection with Chong’’s allegations that he had been kidnapped while in the country.
“However, we are still not satisfied with the information given ... the police will call him back as and when necessary for further investigation,” he said.
Previously, the Malaysian Police had classified Pastor Koh’’s case as abduction as there was no demand for ransom.
Other people who have been reported missing are, welfare activist, Amri Che Mat, 44, of Perlis Hope, a charity organisation.
Pastor Joshua Hilmy and his wife Ruth, also a pastor, have been missing from their home in Petaling Jaya, since late last year. — Bernama
