SIBU: Sibu Rural District Council ( SRDC) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai described the Key Performance Index ( KPI) for his councillors as encouraging and above average for the past three months of this year.

Around 70 per cent of the reports had been resolved, 20 per cent under ratification and 10 per cent related to other agencies. Sempurai Petrus Ngelai, Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman

During that period, the councillors reported 110 requests for municipal services and application for maintenance and clearing of roads, drainage and scavenging.

“Around 70 per cent of the reports had been resolved, 20 per cent under ratification and 10 per cent related to other agencies,” Sempurai said at a press conference after chairing a full council meeting yesterday afternoon.

The chairman said statistics show that the councillors, together with the staff had been taking, reporting and solving problems related to municipal councils.

The three most active councillors are Kong Yii Tee (with 32 reports), Ho Kok Munting and Dali Merawing (each with 12 reports).

“The councillors’ KPIs are assessed not only from reports but also from their involvement in council activities, community programme and council meetings,” Sempurai said.

All the councillors had been performing well in their zones and he was confident the momentum would continue for the rest of the year.

On another matter, Sempurai said the council had initiated a cleaning and dengue awareness campaign at Sibu Jaya Commercial Centre on April 14.

He said from the campaign, the council observed that indiscriminate dumping was still prevalent in the township.
