Two more silvers and a bronze for state bowlers
KUCHING: The Sarawak team continued to collect more medals on the second day of the 30th National Interstates Bowling Championship at Sunway Megalanes, Sunway Pyramid, Selangor on Tuesday.
They won two more silver and one bronze medals, bringing their current medal haul in the competition to one gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
Making the two-three podium finish in the boys doubles were Abg Af iq Yazid Abg Azman-Christopher Tiong Lee Siong with 2629 pinfalls and Musayyar Khalid- Abner Loo with 2409 pinfalls.
The gold was won by the Selangor pair of Wan Mohd Naqib and Mohd Azizi Naim of Selangor who posted a total score of 2,691 pinfalls.
Sarawak’s other silver medal was del ivered by Nur Aina Kamalia Abdul Ayub and Gillian Lim Siew Geok who felled 2,472 pins in the girls doubles.
Sabah’s twin sisters Nurul Ayunni and Nurul Alyssa took the gold with 2,560 pinfalls while Selangor’s Iffah Nadhirah and Qistina Zainal finished third on 2,378 pinfalls.
In the men’s doubles, Bong Kihow and Chong Jun Foo were fourth on 2,549 pinfalls and Ervin Lim Wai Mun and Daniel Tan Yan Han came in seventh with 2,390 pinfalls. The gold was won by Zulmazran Zulkifli and Ahmad Muaz of Selangor who registered 2,617 pinfalls.
In the women’s doubles contest that was dominated by national keglers, Sarawak’s Dayang Yumi Azreen-Nurafidza Mohd Amran were in eighth place with 2,245 pinfal ls, f inishing ahead of seniors Dayang Aida NatashaDayang Khairuniza Dhiyana who managed 14th spot with 2,180 pinfalls.
