Kuching to host international IT conference this month
KOTA SAMARAHAN: The 10th International Conference on IT in Asia 2017 ( CITA’17) will be held at Hilton Hotel Kuching on May 23–24.
The conference is organised by the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak ( Unimas). The theme of the conference is ‘Technology Transforming Lives’ which emphasises on technologies that will be making a difference in the global community with the aim of improving livelihoods.
The conference also aims to bring together professionals and executives from all around the world to share and exchange ideas and information pertaining to the roles of ICT within the prevailing challenges of development faced by the region. Unimas statement
“CITA’17 is a premier international conference dedicated to addressing the advances in information technology, whichovertheyearshasbecomealeading interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary forum to bring academia and industry scientists together to exchange and share their most recent innovations, trends, practical challenges and adopted solutions. The conference also aims to bring together professionals and executives from all around the world to share and exchange ideas and information pertaining to the roles of ICT within the prevailing challenges of development faced by the region,” said Unimas through a press statement yesterday.
The conference is looking for new results, techniques and applications on any aspect of smart technology and ICT enablers, infrastructure and trends with an eye on the future and the pressing need for a digital economy and lifestyle to shape homes, offices and communities. CITA is a multiple-track conference that includes workshops, keynote speakers, addresses and oral presentations.
CITA’17 contains the following tracks: Multimedia, Computational Modelling and Simulation, Computer Systems and Communication Technologies, and Software Engineering and Information Systems.
There will be four keynote speakers who are renowned internationally in academic and industry circles. They are Professor Dr Kuldar Taveter from Talinn University of Technology, Estonia; Professor Dr Ghassan Beydoun from University of Technology Sydney, Australia; Professor Datuk Dr Khairuddin Ab Hamid from University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering ( UniMy), Malaysia; and Mohamed Shaharuddin Mohamed Izzuddin from UMW Technology Sdn Bhd, Malaysia.
