Over 100 people become representatives of Barisan Nasional in Lanang

-

SIBU: More than 100 local folk including longhouse chiefs received their certificates of appointment as advisors and representative of the Barisan Nasional ( BN) in Lanang parliamentary constituency.

The certificates were presented by BN Lanang service centre chairman Chieng Buong Toon during a ‘Meet-the-People’ session at Sibujaya Community Hall on Saturday night.

The function also hosted three potential candidates from Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) for the Lanang parliamentary seat in the next general election, namely Kelvin Kong, Councillor Joseph Chieng and Wong Ching Yong.

The appointment allows them to bring up issues and requests from their fellow residents so that any problem could be solved efficiently.

In his remarks, Kong said the appointment of these BN advisors and representatives is very crucial in helping to disseminate genuine and accurate information to the people.

“The appointment allows them to bring up issues and requests from their fellow residents so that any problem could be solved efficiently,” he said.

On the 14th general election (GE14), Kong also hoped that the constituents and fellow party members to continue giving full, undivided support and remain united for SUPP to win back Lanang.

The evening was further enlivened by live performances by popular Iban artiste Ricky El and D’Mixer Crew.

There were also lucky draws offering attractive prizes.
