Current issues discussed at TN50 dialogue
SIBU: The 2050 National Transformation (TN50) dialogue session was held at University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) here yesterday.
Present as panel for the dialogue session were the Assistant Minister of Education and Technological Research Dr Annuar Rapaee, who is also the Assistant Minister of Housing and Public Health, and a political secretary to the Chief Minister, Romeo Christopher Tegong.
The issues brought up included the rising cost of living, housing, education, social woes and entrepreneurial skills.
At the launch of the TN50 roadmap early this year in Petaling Jaya, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had said the goal for TN50 “is for Malaysia to become a top 20 country in the world by 2050.”
He added that they wanted to set up an umbrella under TN50, comprising representatives from all walks of life, the youth, women, academics, the corporate sector, academics and entrepreneurs.
Their voices and those of 1.5 million youths will be sought to draft the 2050 National Transformation (TN50) policy document in one of the country’s biggest policy formulation exercises to date.
The TN50 policy document will outline the economic, social, cultural and environmental targets Malaysia aims to achieve by 2050.
