Roland undaunted by heavy task ahead
KUCHING: Assistant Minister of Native Land Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn is aware that the task handed to him is challenging
Resolving native customary r i ght ( NRC) l a nd issues especial ly on ownership and boundaries is complicated and challenging.
However, Roland is not daunted by his responsibilities.
He said he is committed to help both the state and the rightful owners to reap benefits from the NCR land development.
“We are all aware that land is a highly sensitive and very dear issue to the Dayak people and so I foresee that my portfolio will be very challenging as my task specifically involve NCR land development.
“There are more things to do now as the NCR l and development wi l l cover a l l areas and may involve not just the natives, but also the nonnative,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.
Sagah, who was formerly Assistant Minister of Public Utilities ( Water Supply), said he might also have to deal with a lot of legal matters.
However, he said he was still uncertain about his actual task adding that he would only be briefed on June 8.
“B u t n o rma l l y, land development wi l l involve agriculture.
“Anyway, I look forwa rd to car r y out my new task and hopeful ly I wi l l be able contribute to the state on the NCR land development matter,” he said.
