-

SARIKEI : The Rotary Club of Sarikei, Malaysian Red Crescent ( MRC) Sarikei Chapter, Lions Club of Sarikei, Malaysian Medical Association Sarikei Sub- branch, Sarikei District Council and Public Medicare Group ( PMG) Corporate Social Responsibility( CSR) Team, are pooling their resources to organise a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation( CPR) course for members of the public.

According to a statement issued by the organising committee, the session called “Save a Life, Learn CPR” will be held on July 1 ( Saturday) at Sarikei Central Market Hall from 8am until 11.30am.

The free course will comprise teaching and practical session sfor simple and easy chest compression. The organisers hope the public, clubs and associations, trade unions, schools and government agencies will respond enthusiastically and participate in the brief yet meaningful programme.

“Just imagine somebody may just collapse in front of you, unconscious, stop breathing and about to die.

“You have to do only two steps to save his or her life – dial 999 and do chest compression (CPR) to maintain blood circulation while waiting for the arrival of the medical rescue team.

“If many among the public have learnt or mastered the simple chest compression techniques, they could help save many lives,” the organising committee asserted.

Upon successful completion of the practical session, participants will be given a certificate of attendance issued by the Malaysian Red Crescent.

Those interested are requested to submit their names and identity card numbers via SMS or WhatsApp, or call Dr. Chieng’s Medical Clinic ( 016- 6269983) or Johnny Su ( 019- 8866213) for further information.
