Final reminder for traders to display pink price tags

-

PUTRAJAYA: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry has given traders the final reminder to display the pink price tags on essential items listed under the Ramadan Price Control Scheme (SKHBR) 2017.

The ministry said monitoring by its enforcement officers nationwide found there were traders who did not display the pink price tags on the controlled items and selling these at normal prices.

“The excuse given was that they did not receive the information or were unaware of the implementation of SKHBR 2017,” it said in a statement, here, yesterday.

The ministry said its enforcement officers would be issuing warning notices or impose compounds on errant traders.

On May 19, its minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin announced the 10 items listed under lSKHBR 2017, effective for 10 days from May 22 to 31 nationwide.

The controlled items are peanuts, green peas, eggs grade A, B and C, whole coconuts, grated coconut, fine granulated sugar, coarse granulated sugar and wheat flour. Hamzah said the scheme was implemented for the first time following suggestions from the public concerned over the hike in price of certain goods in the month of Ramadan. — Bernama
