Uber Malaysia offers users special promotion for inaugural Bafa 2017
MIRI: Miri Entrepreneur Incubator Club, the organiser of Baby and Family Fair ( Bafa) 2017 to take place at the indoor stadium here, has received special sponsorship from Uber Malaysia in support of the upcoming event.
The city coordinator for Uber Miri, Jerome Baki in a press conference yesterday said the sponsorship came in the form of a promotion code that would entitle users of the ride- sharing application to special discounts when they take an Uber ride to or from the event venue.
For new Uber users, the discount would be RM10 per trip or RM20 for a return trip, where the user would only pay the after- discount amount.
“For example, if the ride is RM15 per trip, the user will only pay the extra RM5 as RM10 will be paid by Uber. The promocode for new users is ‘BAFA2017MIRI’.
“For existing users, the discount is RM5 per trip or RM10 per return trip and the promo- code is ‘ BAFAMIRI’,” he said, adding that the promotion is only valid for trips to or from the venue between June 9 and 11, which is the date of the fair.
Apart from giving discounts for the ride, Uber is also sponsoring the committee’s T- shirt for the fair as well as the fair’s backdrop.
Meanwhile, the organising chairwoman of Bafa 2017, Jane Lee said the event would be the fi rst and largest baby and family fair to be held here.
“There will be a total of 35 exhibitors involved in the fair which is aimed at providing parenting techs and tools, especially to new parents, young parents and parents-to-be,” she said.
Lee added that the fair is suited for the whole family as there will be things to do for babies, toddlers, as well as parents, such as fun games and food sales.
“We have also invited doctors to give talks on breastfeeding, as well as on babies and mothers’ health, at the event. So it will also be a very educational event for parents and parents-to-be,” she added.
Among the activities planned for the three- day fair are a colouring contest, best- dressed baby contest, cutest baby contest, diaper changing contest, and a lucky draw.
