CM receives Head of State at Raya open house
KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and wife Datin Amar Dato Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang received Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib at their Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here Monday.
Taib and his entourage arrived at the convention hall about 12.30pm and left an hour later after Raghad had presented a classic stage.
Raghad together with Taib’s son Datuk Seri Sulaiman Taib, who is former deputy minister of tourism and former Kota Samarahan MP, sang ‘ Tanya Sama Hati’ for guests and well-wishers in the hall. Malay song on
Raghad’s singing was greeted with applause. Among those on stage with Raghad and Sulaiman was Juma’ani.
Prior to the duet, Abang Johari did a brief introduction of the performance to individuals in the convention hall.
Among the local dignitaries attending the open house were Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun and Deputy Home Minister Datuk Masir Kujat.
The open house hosted by Abang Johari and Juma’ani continued to receive overwhelming response from the community, having received over 10,000 well-wishers on the first day of Hari Raya on Sunday.
