Hatten Group unveils Satori megaproject, targets wellness tourism

-

MIRI: Hatten Group, an awardwinning property developer with a number of iconic projects in Melaka worth billions of ringgit is showcasing its next gem – the Satori.

Overlooking the Straits of Melaka just opposite another upcoming mega- project by Hatten Group called Harbour City, Satori is poised to invigorate the wellness tourism industry in Melaka.

Billed as a sanctuary in the city with its theme of ‘ Health, Wellness — An Investment For Life’, Satori is a game- changer in Melaka’s tourism landscape, where people will come not just for shopping and entertainment, but to seek well-being of the body and mind.

The upcoming RM300 million project is a fusion of both tourism and health, housing state- of- the- art fitness centres, health spa outlets, a yoga room, oxygen room, sauna room, massage room, physiotherapy area and swimming pool as well as specialty health supplement retail stores within an international hotel featuring 336 suite- class rooms.

Next to the hotel will be a condominium tower which houses 192 apartment units.

The entire development is expected to be completed by mid2021.

As Melaka city itself is a tourist hotspot and recognised as a Unesco World Heritage Site, Satori will inevitably spur health tourism in Melaka which recorded an impressive 15.7 million foreign arrivals to the state in 2015.

According to the Global Wellness Institute ( GWI), the worldwide wellness economy was worth US$ 3.7 trillion in 2015. Besides that, wellness tourism revenues had grown 14 per cent, more than twice as fast as overall tourism expenditures of 6.9 per cent.

With Melaka’s recent trade and tourism agreement with Guangdong Province, the upcoming KL- Singapore High Speed Rail and massive upgrades to the Melaka International Airport, more visitors are expected to arrive in years to come.

Apart from Satori and Harbour City, Hatten Group aims to transform Melaka city into the next ‘ Dubai of the East’ with upcoming developments such as the RM40 billion Melaka Gateway Project and the 66- acre Hatten Metropolis.

Hatten Group through its subsidiary Hatten Properties Sdn Bhd, is showcasing the Satori at the ongoing four- day Miri Trade Fair 15 in Bintang Megamall here.
