‘Lagu Rakyat Sarawak’ exhibition from Aug 4-6 at State Library

KUCHING: In conjunction with the Sarawakiana Carnival 2017 organised by the Sarawak State Library, members of the public are invited to come and visit the ‘Lagu Rakyat Sarawak’ exhibition from August 4 until 6 at the Seminar Room, Level 1, Sarawak State Library.

The exhibition will feature traditional Sarawakian songs that may not be known by the younger generation and indirectly gives the opportunity to the youngsters to recognise and understand the culture and traditions of the people of Sarawak.

The songs that will be featured include the traditional songs of the Malay, Iban, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu and Melanau communities.

The exhibition is open for public viewing from 9am to 6pm. Entrance is free.

Also, in conjunction with the Sarawakiana Carnival 2017, a Sarawak Traditional Cuisine Cooking Demonstration will be held on August 5 (Saturday) from 9am to 11am at the Sarawak State Library.

This is an opportunity for members of the public to gather unique Sarawakian traditional recipes.
