Lereng Bukit Staircase Challenge 2017 organiser donates RM1,500 to Sarawak Cochlear Implant Society

MIRI: The organiser of the inaugural Lereng Bukit Staircase Challenge 2017 at Kampung Haji Wahed has donated RM1,500 to Sarawak Cochlear Implant Society.

According to spokespers­on of Bulatan Park Runners Club, the donation derives from the proceeds raised from the running event.

“The challenge, organised for the first time by the club, meant to raise funds for the society, which also received another RM500 donated by the event organising chairman Leo Goh and his friends,” the spokespers­on said.

Meanwhile, Colin Hang Min Kwang and Lee Leh Ha emerged champions of the respective Men and Women’s Elite categories yesterday.

Placing second and third in the Men’s Elite event were Liew Joon Kiew and Abdul Mutalib Dolek, while Kelly Katrina Komasi and Chong Mi Chin were the respective first and second runners-up in the Women’s Elite race.

In the Men’s Open category, Law Jun Tin was the first to reach the finish line, followed by Stephen Ting Pang Yew, Liew Joon Kien, Steven Wo Chuan Kiong and Chu Chat Shan.

Lee Leh Ha struck gold again when she also won the Women’s Open run, followed by respective runners-up Jennifer Sia, Hii Yieng Nyuk, Joanne Chang and Brenda Nahah.

Prizes were presented by Miri Mayor Adam Yii during the closing ceremony, witnessed by Goh and local community leaders, Penghulu Samad Alip and Ketua Kaum Salin Santol.
