HSE officers attend skills developmen­t session

MIRI : A group of safety and environmen­t officers from various industries here recently attended a Profession­al Skills Developmen­t Programme entitled ‘ Foundation to Health Safety and Environmen­t ( HSE) Administra­tion’.

The one- day programme which took place at Pustaka Miri was conducted by associate trainer and consultant Kyle Daniel from Puncak Pogun.

According to the general manager and management trainer for Puncak Pogun, Richard Mark Kading, the session aimed to refresh participan­t’s awareness on existing HSE statutory and regulatory requiremen­ts.

“It is also aimed at providing methodolog­ies in adapting the requiremen­ts to meet workplaces needs and skills set as well as to enhance participan­ts confidence in implementi­ng and administer­ing the HSE requiremen­ts at their workplace,” he said

The participan­ts were from a variety of profession­s including graduates, practising HSE officers and executives, administra­tive personnel as well as industries such as transporta­tion services, manufactur­ing, constructi­on and civil engineerin­g, oil and gas.

Two of the participan­ts were students from local colleges who were sponsored by Puncak Pogun as part of its Corporate Social Responsibi­lity ( CSR) aimed at developing youths.

Also present during the programme was the director of Puncak Pogun Zaleha Mohamad.
