Sharifah Hashidah: London trip ‘good’
I will be reporting to the chief minister tomorrow (today). I have not officially reported to him yet. Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring
KUCHING: Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali has described her fact- finding mission on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 ( MA63) in London as ‘good’.
However, Sharifah Hasidah, who led an eight-member team of experts including State Legal Counsel Datuk JC Fong and State Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Datuk Gerawat Gala for a week-long trip to London from July 16, declined to disclose the details of their findings when met by reporters yesterday.
“I will be reporting to the chief minister tomorrow (today). I have not officially reported to him yet. Tomorrow (today) is the briefing and after that, we will release the press statement and give all the details,” she said after a press conference on the preparation for the Head of State’s 81st birthday celebration chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, here yesterday.
She had said on July 10 that the trip was important to help the state to be factual in their discussions with the federal government on the state’s rights.
“We want to see the real facts ... we don’t want to be speculative and to only interpret things.”
Sharifah Hasidah was also quoted as saying that the state wanted to be sure about things when dealing with the federal government, adding that the trip was for the sake of the state and was not a waste of public funds.
