-

KUCHING: Tusita Foundation recently launched its ‘Love Sayang Day’ welfare programme as part of its mission to advocate that everyone can do good regardless of age, colour or religion.

Since the launch, the foundation has contributed 70 stationery sets as well as sponsored 80 lunch boxes for an orphanage at Mile 12 here.

Tusita Foundation managing director Chan Tyng Tyng led youths, teachers and parents of Bodhi Wonderland, as well as Tyng Dance Academy teachers to visit the orphanage where they organised crafts, Zumba, a piano performance and singing.

Last month, the foundation also hosted a charity haircut for another orphanage in Petra Jaya, which saw stylists from seven salons give 60 children haircuts.

The foundation also donated food, while J & Win Salon donated 29 bottles of hair conditioner to the orphanage.

Members also visited two hospital welfare departments to donate 150 adult stoma bags and 26 cans of specialised milk powder for those in need.

Since launching the programme, the foundation has also donated pharmaceuticals to needy patients at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) every month.

From April, the welfare programme was also extended to needy patients at Serian Hospital.

Tusita Foundation works closely with the welfare departments of hospitals, with social workers identifying patients that require aid.

To date, 965 packets and 75 cans of specialised milk powder have been donated.
