KUCHING: Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi has advised students who will sit for public examinations to make their health a priority.

According to Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity, who is a medical doctor by training, a balanced diet will help students remain focussed and energetic.

With good health, the mind will be able to think clearly.

“You need to be healthy if you are to sit for examinations. Please take good care of your health if you want to make sure you do well in examinations,” he said when officiating at a Solat Hajat prayer service for students who will be sitting for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah ( UPSR) examination soon at Darul Hana Mosque yesterday.

The students were from two primary schools, namely SK Pulo and SK Matu Baru.

During the event, Dr Abdul Rahman advised parents to take good care of their children during the examination period to prevent them getting into mishaps.

“Take good care and monitor the movement of your children. We want them to focus and be calm throughout the examination period,” he said.

Explaining to parents why he hoped they would ensure their children excel in studies, he told them education is the path to a bright future.

Apart from reading of the Surah Yassin and motivational talks, other activities were also held.

The UPSR is scheduled to start on Sept 11.
