108 Sarawak product experience­s available at Matta Fair 2017

KUCHING: Sarawak Tourism Board’s (STB) agents and product owners will be pushing 108 local Sarawak product experience­s at the Malaysian Associatio­n of Tour and Travel Agents ( Matta) Fair 2017, which starts today at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur until Sept 10.

Sarawak’s outing at the fair, with the theme ‘ Sarawak Je’, connotes the ever exotic and diverse product experience­s offered at value-for-money which is just 90 minutes away for West Malaysians to enjoy a quick and memorable domestic holiday.

Sarawak is also named ‘ Malaysia’s Favourite Destinatio­n’ for this Matta Fair, and visitors at the weekend fair will be spoilt for choices with diverse tourism packages at prices ranging from as low as RM 69.90.

A total of 13 Sarawak travel agencies and hoteliers will participat­e in the fair; among them are Sibu-based Greatown Travel, and Brighton Travel & Tour, Miri Borneo Travel Agencies, and Tropical Adventure Tours, all from Miri.

Also joining the fair to showcase their product experience­s are Inter- Continenta­l Travel, EcoGreen Holidays, Great Leap Tours, Straits Central Travel & Tours, Borneo Exploratio­n Tours & Travel, Amogha Tours & Travel, Ibanika Tours & Travel, and Paradesa Borneo, all of whom are from Kuching.

MerdekaPal­aceHotelan­dSuites is the sole hotel representa­tive while SEDC Tourism Hospitalit­y Group, including the Sarawak Cultural Village, will also be present.

“This is Sarawak’s biggest contingent so far participat­ing at this annual fair, which is the biggest in the country,” said STB domestic marketing manager Gustino Basuan.

STB will also roll out its ‘Sarawak Je’ Instagram contest during the fair, with five daily winners over the three- day event able to claim their prizes at the Sarawak Pavilion.
