KAPIT: The Kapit Foochow Association has pledged its support to the Barisan Nasional ( BN) government.

Chairman Sii Bang Ee announced this when the association paid a courtesy call on Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat recently.

He said the association is grateful for the government’s support, such as allocating funding for the RM500,000 multipurpose hall at KM3 Jalan Selirik.

“On behalf of the Kapit Foochow Association, we say a big thank you to the government for allocating the funding for this building. We’re really grateful to Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi – through whom we received the funding.

“Today we pay a courtesy visit on you (Jamit) because we want to express our gratitude to the government and thank you YB for supporting our activities. We’re here to pledge our support to the government,” said Sii.

He said the double- storey concrete multipurpose hall, which was completed recently, is in the final stages of having water and electricity supply installed.

“We are also planning to fence the building and also to cement the compound for parking purposes. The hall is for the Selirik community to carry out social activities.

“The first floor will be rented out to collect revenue to maintain the building,” he added.
