Desa Senadin folk plan get-together to celebrate Malaysia Day
MIRI: Rukun Tetangga ( RT) Desa Senadin Phase I, Jiran Wanita I and Tabika Perpaduan Desa Senadin will jointly organise a family day in conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 at Pusat Rukun Tetangga Desa Senadin, Miri from 8am to 11.30am.
RT Desa Senadin Phase I chairman Willie Lijia Deseh said, the gathering aims to enhance rapport among residents in Desa Senadin apart from celebratiing Malaysia Day with competitions involving the Tadika children and parents.
“The family day aims to inculcate the spirit of Malaysia among the residents and to train our children to know the history of our country’s struggle for independence,” Willie disclosed during a meeting to finalise the event and competitions yesterday.
Also present were Jiran Wanita Desa Senadin Phase I chairwoman Saraniah Abdullah.
According to Willie, they are targeting pupils studying at Tabika Perpaduan Desa Senadin, their parents and residents living in Desa Senadin including youths and the community at large.
He said among activities to be held are a colouring competition for children, 1Malaysia fashion competition for children, storytelling and a telematch involving parents and also children.
