Wong Nai Siong Secondary School celebrates 50 years of perseverance and excellence
SIBU: Wong Nai Siong Secondary School here, which has surpassed numerous challenges over the past five decades, has its off- springs spread all over the world.
According to the school principal Lu Yew Hiing, the school has nurtured many entrepreneurs and professionals from all walks of life with outstanding contributions to the society.
“This is the pride and honour of the offspring of the school. Today, we are delighted to see many talents sprout out from the school. We have trained and produced countless graduates in the past 50 years,” he pointed out in his welcoming speech at the school’s 50th anniversary dinner held at a restaurant here recently.
The chairman of the School BoardofManagementTemenggong Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming and his mother Datin Sri Wong Suk Ting were among those present.
Lu said in the past 50 years, the school had faced a lot of struggles and problems.
However, he said the school continued to withstand and overcome struggles with the spirit of perseverance.
“Reminiscing the history and footprints of the school, we witnessed our ancestor’s emphasis on the value of education in nurturing future generations.
“We should enhance the vision for education established by our ancestors and constantly strengthen the spirit of cooperation with various schools from local and foreign countries to continue the educational reform, promote the school’s brand name and transform it into a model school in future. We hope that the school’s alumni and society at all levels continue to support the school’s development so as to attract more attention, talent and to spread more care and love,” he stated.
He hoped the alumni and especially the Chinese community would continue to support the development of the school and bring the education standard of the school to a higher level with great zeal and enthusiasm.
