Kpg Malaysia Jaya folk hold joint National Day, village’s anniversary do
KUCHING: The residents of Kampung Malaysia Jaya here took the opportunity to combine the 38th anniversary of their village and National Day into one festive celebration.
The colourful do at the village community hall last Sunday commenced with a talk on independence, followed by a procession by the villagers and culminated in an anniversary dinner.
Private secretary to Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusuf, Morshidi Said praised the Kampung Malaysia Jaya folk for demonstrating and upholding the spirit of cooperation and solidarity, hoping that this would continue for generations to come.
“I would like to congratulate the organising committee on the success of this event. I also commend them for engaging the youths to be part of this celebration,” he said.
Adding on, Morshidi reminded all to continue nurture the spirit of patriotism and love for the country in themselves, especially in the young ones.
“We must always honour and remembers the struggles and sacrifices of our forefathers in attaining independence, so that we the next generation could have a better future,” he stressed.
The joint National Day-village anniversary celebration was jointly organised by Kampung Malaysia Jaya Neighbourhood Watch, Masjid Darul Abidin committee and the local subbranch of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( PBB).
