Associatio­n presents cash study incentives to 49 students

KAPIT: A total of 49 students received cash study incentives from Chiang Chuan Associatio­n based on school and public examinatio­n results in 2016.

They were the children of the associatio­n’s members. Those from Primary 1 to Primary 5 received RM50 each, followed by Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah ( UPSR) with RM80 each, Pentaksira­n Tingkatan 3 ( PT3) with RM100 each, Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with RM150 each, Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with RM180 each, diploma and degree studies with RM200 each and Dean’s Award recipients with RM400 each respective­ly.

Associatio­n advisor Yeo Kim Teck and committee members presented the cash study incentives during a function recently.

During the function, associatio­n chairperso­n Sng Geok Yien, on behalf of the associatio­n, handed over a total of RM100,000 to the SJK Hock Lam Building Fund which was received by school headmaster Wong Siew Ching.

Sng said the RM100,000 was raised from Chiang Chuan members and also through various fundraisin­g activities including a fundraisin­g sale, collection from members, and joggerthon.

Also present among the some 100 guests at the function were Pemanca Yong Thu Fook, Penghulu Sia Shui Poh, Kapitan Kong Cheak He, Kapitan Yiap Yii Hoo, Kapitan Yap Hui Le, Kapit Foochow Associatio­n chairman Sii Bang Ee, Tai San Ten Associatio­n chairman Kong Siau Kui and councillor Liew Hui Hua.
