Vietnam backs world efforts to fight terrorism
MOSCOW: Vietnam will continue its efforts to expand cooperation with other countries and support the international community’s efforts to counter terrorism and extremism on the basis of respecting the UN Charter and international law, Vietnam News Agency ( VNA) reported.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Son made the statement at the Meeting of Heads of Special Services, Security Agencies and Law Enforcement Organisations held in Russia’s Krasnodar city on Oct 4- 5.
Terrorism is developing more complicatedly, especially the rapid growth of science-technology in information technology and the Internet, causing serious consequences for many nations and territories.
Vietnam has encouraged the involvement of the entire people in the combat against terrorism, while building a legal framework, strengthening measures to detect and prevent terrorism and extremism activities, and coordinating with other countries and international organisations in this fierce fight, Son said.
To increase the efficiency of the work, Son proposed intensifying cooperation between special services and law enforcement agencies to control and prevent funds or websites related to terrorism and working with other countries in investigating terrorism cases.
