Man held for possession of suspected Syabu

SIBU: A man was arrested by police in the compound of his house for drug possession following a routine inspection.

District police chief ACP Zailanni Amit said the arrest took place on Sunday when police conducted a check on the man at his house at Bukit Assek Road around 4pm.

The check yielded plastic packets of various sizes containing suspected Syabu weighing about 3.6g, he disclosed.

The police chief added that they believe the drugs were meant for the suspect’s own consumption and not for sale.

The suspect is currently under remand to facilitate further investigation.
