SMK Kpg Nangka succeeds in boosting students’ attendance
SIBU: SMK Kampung Nangka is making good progress in its students’ attendance performance, having achieved the targeted average score of 95 per cent target over the previous 93 per cent.
“We achieve our target of 95 per cent – sometimes, we get 98 per cent.
“In this regard, I call upon all parents to continue encouraging their children to attend school,” SMK Kampung Nangka principal Kiew Soon Lee spoke at the school’s annual prize presentation on Monday, where Sibu District Education officer Wong Chong Kung officiated at the opening ceremony.

Adding on, Kiew said academicwise, SMK Kampung Nangka showed improvement in the School Average Grade ( GPS) for last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia ( SPM) and also the second-term Sijil Tinggi Persekolhan Malaysia (STPM).
“The teachers have been going all out in helping our children attain good grades in public examinations.”
On another subject, Kiew said to strengthen the command of English among students, the school had planned various programmes such as the ‘Word Journal’.
He thanked Assistant Minister of Education and Technological Research Dr Annuar Rapaee for his assistance, which included iTTV e-learning programme that provides free online tuition, guidance class, as well as ‘Nangka Excellent School’ programme.
SMK Kampung Nangka parent-teacher association ( PTA) deputy chairperson Nur Fazrina Abdullah and police liaison officer Insp Rodua Tayo were also present yesterday.
