M’sia to host Commonwealth Youth Summit Friday
CYBERJAYA: Beginning Friday, Malaysia will host a three- day Commonwealth Youth Summit, a biennial gathering of youth ministers, senior government officials, youth leaders and thinktanks.
Commonwealth Youth Council ( CYC) chairman Kishva Ambigapathy said the summit themed ‘An Intergenerational Convergence’, would be attended by more than 350 selected youth leaders from 53 Commonwealth countries to explore four emerging development issues.
The issues are Climate Policy and Finance; Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship; Peace-building and Global Inequality; and Social Cohesion.
Ambigapathy said among prominent figures participating at the summit are Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, who will be making his maiden visit to Malaysia; Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and his Jamaicain counterpart, Floyd- Green, and Commonwealth Deputy SecretaryGeneral Dr Josephine Ojiambo. — Bernama
