KUCHING: The Best of You 2017 exhibition will be held at Vivacity Megamall, the fi rst East Malaysia event for the social movement about appreciation from Nov 16 to 18.

The exhibition will feature interactive workshops and activities, including a sharing session with My FM DJ Winson, David Chew’s special art jamming workshop and Paper Quilling Workshop by Yvonne Yeo.

More than 100 stories and artworks about touching people’s lives will be exhibited. Admission is free.

Initiated by Malaysian biscuit and snack manufacturer, Julie’s Biscuit, The Best of You is a social movement that celebrates the lives and stories of everyday heroes.

The movement’s founder Sai Tzy Horng said appreciation renders visibility, forges understanding and inspires action.

“The heroic stories received by The Best of You certainly changed perspectives, challenged assumptions and even galvanised many of our readers into helping others,” said Horng said in a press conference at Pullman Hotel here yesterday.

Horng said The Best of You 2017 enters its fourth year by highlighting stories of individuals through a book.

“This year’s book is dedicated to those who face stereotypes, discrimination and oppression, especially foreign workers who had contributed to the development of Singapore and Malaysia and towards individuals with disabilities,” said Horng.

The press conference yesterday also saw a sharing session by Wan Shahrazuddin who had his right leg amputated and is now using a prosthetic leg; and two best friends, Amy and Allison who challenge public perception on friendship between races.

Those intending to join The Best of You movement can send in words, pictures, videos or music by uploading them on www. thebestofyou.my
