Recognising outstanding students at 13th excellence award ceremony
BINTULU: Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanjung Batu held its 13th excellence award ceremony at the school hall recently.
Various excellent awards in academic and co- curricular activities were presented to outstanding students including 90 preschool children who received graduation certificates.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Mohd Zaidi Ismail representing Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
Present were school headmaster Togang Sedin and its Parent-Teacher Association chairman Joseph Laja.

He therefore congratulated teachers and parents for the teamwork and commitment.
Tiong advised the students to embrace a lifelong learning culture and not be complacent.
“In our effort to achieve the country’s vision, we will be facing many challenges in guiding future generations and also the challenges in the world of education.
“This challenge should be seen as a motivation for us to strive for greater excellence, and parents must continue emphasising their children’s education not only in school but also at home,” he said.
He called on all parties to work together with strategic plans and strong partnership to produce excellent students.
“The relationship between the school and parents must be based on a sense of responsibility – we need and we support each other,” Tiong added.
Togang thanked all parties, especially Daiken Sarawak Sdn Bhd for donating 400 plastic chairs, Petronas for 20 computers and Shell for giving 17 computers and RM100,000 to the school under their corporate social responsibility programme.
