EduQuest Education Fair returns to Kuching on Dec 6

-

KUCHING: The EduQuest Education Fair – one of the largest education fairs here – will be held at Grand Continental Hotel on Wednesday ( Dec 6) from 1pm to 5pm.

EduQuest education manager Michael Yii said parents and students will be able to obtain the latest course information and scholarships from higher education institutions in Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom and United States.

“Some participating institutions are offering students to pay their 2017 fees if they apply or enrol during the fair. Generally, tuition fees will increase between 3 to 5 per cent on yearly basis,” he said in a statement yesterday.

“The EduQuest Education Fair is the best platform for them to obtain advice from representatives of various institutions to see what best suits them.”

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia, Unified Examination Certificate, International General Certificate of Secondary Education, A-Levels school-leavers and diploma holders can visit the fair with their parents and are advised to bring along their school trial or exam results for immediate evaluation.

More than 80 international and local universities will participate in the fair.

Among them are Executive College, FAME International College, NIIT College, Riam Institute of Technology, UCSI University, and University College of Technology Sarawak ( UCTS) from East Malaysia; Advance Tertiary College, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, Berjaya University College of Hospitality, Brickfields Asia College, First City University College, HELP University, HeriotWatt University Malaysia, IACT College, International Medical University, Inti International University, KDU University College, Malaysian Institute of Art, Manipal International University, Melaka Manipal Medical College, MDIS Malaysia, Nilai University, Segi University, Taylor’s University, University of Southampton Malaysia, Xiamen University Malaysia, and Camou Academy of Media Arts from Peninsular Malaysia; JMC Academy Australia and Study in Australia from Australia; as well as MDIS Singapore and SIM Global Education from Singapore.

Apart from that, visitors will also be able to speak to representatives from government agencies such as the National Higher Education Fund Corporation and JobsMalaysia to learn more about financial assistance and the job market in Malaysia, particularly Sarawak.

Yii said 2018 would be another challenging year for most parents due to the current economic situation.

“Hence, institutions are offering attractive scholarships, bursaries and incentives in order to ease parents’ burden in financing their children’s further education,” he said.

Since its establishment in 2002, EduQuest Education Services has placed thousands of students in universities or colleges of their choice. Experienced education counsellors have helped with programme counselling, university placement, scholarship application, accommodation arrangement, visa application and more for free.
