Tony Hung hints not likely to reconcile with Natalie Tong
HONG KONG: TVB actor Tony Hung has hinted strongly that he is unlikely to reconcile with actress Natalie Tong.
Tony, who is preparing to film a tour show in Taiwan, gave an update on his relationship issues by disclosing to newsmen: “Guys get to know different girls at different stages. I prefer mature girls who can communicate with me. Although I am prepared to start another new relationship, I have not set myself a target (date).”
As a child, Tony was educated in New Zealand, and this could have diluted his Asian preferences.
In May, both Tony and Natalie had posted on social media that their two-year relationship had ended.
But even as early as January, paparazzi have been reporting that they appeared to have drifted apart. Back then, both had insisted that it was just a “cooling off” period. But reports on their break-up continued to be widely circulated for months.
It was only on May 16 that Tony finally posted a lengthy response on Instagram, explaining that the split was a mutual decision. He stressed that no third party was involved.
Wrote Tony: “Thank you all for your concern. Natalie and I originally wanted a low-profile relationship, but in the end, we decided on a different approach. It was an amicable break-up. It was a decision we made together. The reason was not because of marriage, like what the media has been reporting, and it was definitely not because of a third party. Please stop the speculations. It’s not easy to manage a relationship, and it’s even harder to break up, so I hope everyone will give us the space to readjust. Thank you ( Natalie) for bringing me so much joy for the past two years!”
