Mydin launches Takaful iMeriah protection

KUALA LUMPUR: Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin) has launched Takaful iMeriah to offer exclusive protection for Mydin Meriah Card members.

The sharia-compliant Takaful iMeriah protection is the result of Mydin’s cooperatio­n with AmMetLife Takaful Berhad.

Mydin managing director Datuk Wira Ameer Ali Mydin said the Mydin loyalty and rewards programme introduced iMeriah as a sign of appreciati­on to loyal customers.

“Eligible card members, who spend at least RM600 at selected Mydin supermarke­ts within a calendar month using the Meriah Card will receive immediate protection during the next calendar month,” he explained.

“This Takaful coverage is free for Meriah Card members because the cost of this insurance is borne by Mydin.

“In the event of death on a covered Meriah Card member, the nominee will be allowed to spend RM300 per month at selected Mydin supermarke­t for daily necessitie­s for 12 months.”

“Mydin is a pioneer in introducin­g such an idea, which provides monthly protection in the form of essential items to Meriah Card members, who shop at Mydin nationwide.

“With the launch of iMeriah, I hope it will be a platform to prove Mydin’s commitment in fulfilling our corporate social responsibi­lity towards Mydin customers,” he said during the launch at Mydin USJ, Subang Jaya.

Ameer explained that Mydin Merian Card members aged 18 to 49 are eligible for iMeriah which is available at 59 Mydin supermarke­ts nationwide.
