Association to hold ‘Winter Solstice Rainbow Dumpling Sharing’
MIRI: The women section of the Federation of Chinese Associations Miri Division will hold a ‘Winter Solstice Rainbow Dumpling Sharing’ at the ground floor of Miri Civic Centre from 1pm to 5pm today
According to the section’s chairwoman Wong Sheau Wei, the occasion is a great opportunity for women from the different associations to exchange recipes of the glutinous rice dumplings.
“It would be interesting to witness the different recipes of the different Chinese clans at one place,” said Wong in a press conference yesterday.
Representatives from Miri Hii Clan association, Miri Kwong Vui Association, Lim Clan Association, Miri Chiang Hsia Huang Clans Association, Miri Ho Poh Association, Wong Clan Association, Miri Hing Ann Association, Miri Chawan Association, Miri Foo Chow Association, Miri Wu Clan Association and Miri Kaying Association are expected at the event.
“During the event, tables and extension wires will be provided for each team of three members. “Participation fee is RM5 per pax,” said Wong.
She added that about 100 participants have registered for the event and more are expected as there is no limit to the number of participants.
“Aside from dumpling making, there will also be lucky draw, karaoke singing and ‘ang pow’ giveaway to lucky participants,” said Wong.
