MIRI: Team spirit remains the strength of LBR Miri in their quest for glory in football.

According to LBR (Liga Bolasepak Rakyat) Miri head coach Mohd Hakimi Man, the players continued to stay committed despite the team’s up and down journey in local football scene, said.

“Our players are working hard to ensure our victory in every matches,” Hakimi told theborneopost yesterday.

Referring to the 3-3 draw in their LBR first playoff match against Kuching Gedong Gators in Kuching on Dec 9, Hakimi said it was a good learning process for the players ahead of their next match against Sibu on Dec 23 at Miri Stadium.

Hakimi said the team also drew strength from their eversupportive fans.

“I always remind the players that they are the hope of football fans especially those in Miri. Strong team spirit helps to generate a desire to perform at their best in every match.

“We always encourage our players to uplift the standard of football here in Miri,” he added.

On their second LBR playoff against Sibu, Hakimi said the team have been preparing for the match for over a week.

“We are really looking forward for a win as it would allow us to advance to the top 16 of the national-level Liga Bolasepak Rakyat and compete in the national league to be held early next year.

“We will give our best to win the match against Sibu,” he added.

Hakimi was met at a press conference at LSC Imperial Mall branch here yesterday.

Meanwhile, LBR Miri will face Wisma RSC in the final match of the Miri-LSC Football League 2017 today at Petroleum Recreational Club field at Lutong at 3pm.

Also present at the press conference was Wisma RSC head coach Mat Enju.
