Kumon recognises student achievements at ASF
KUALA LUMPUR: Advanced Student Forum ( ASF) is an annual event being held by Kumon to recognise students’ achievements – those who have completed their programme and who have successfully achieved 5-year ahead of their actual school grade.
Nov 18, 2017 marked an important date for 393 Kumon Advanced Students as they walked with pride on stage receiving their awards at the The Manhattan III, Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
In Kumon, students who are studying at least 6 months ahead of their actual school grade are given the title of “Advanced Student”.
With about 31,000 Kumon students in Malaysia, 14,631 of them have achieved this status.
A total of 176 students have completed Kumon Programme this year.
They are confident in their current school work. Highlights of Kumon ASF 2017 Youngest completer ( Maths) — Lim Jing Xiang (Secondary 1)
Youngest completer ( English) — Fong Ju Hin, Ryan ( Primary 4)
Youngest two subjects completer — Goh Yi Xuan (Secondary 4)
Youngest Maths Awardee — Naveen Xu Wen Tharma Raja, (5 years old), study Maths of Primary 5
Youngest English Awardee — Zoe Fong Ju Ee ( Primary 2), study English Secondary 2
Based on the results, it can be truly seen that a child’s potential has no boundaries.
Kumon believes that all children possess boundless potential and through instruction at the ‘ just right ’level, it is possible to uncover this underlying potential in children.
Through continued selflearning regardless of age, children are able to acquire strong academic foundation which eventually leads them to studying ahead of their current school grade.
