Gavin bags Asian Tour Player of the Year award
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian number one golfer, Gavin Kyle Green wraps up his exceptional season in style after he was named as Asian Tour Players’ Player of the Year during the tour Awards Night following the conclusion of the Indonesian Masters in Jakarta, Sunday night.
He claimed the accolade through a voting process by his peers for a highly successful season where he landed his first Asian Tour title at the Taiwan Masters, besides finishing second thrice at the Indian Open, Yeangder Heritage in Taiwan and Shinhan Donghae Open in South Korea.
The big- hit t ing gol fer enjoyed a successful season by becoming the first Malaysian golfer to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit crown since the establishment of the Asian Tour back in 2004.

To add icing on the cake, he also bagged the driving distance category award after averaging 314.08 yards off the tees. United States youngster, Micah Lauren Shin was named Rookie of the Year while the SMBC Singapore Open and its host venue, Sentosa Golf Club, were also awarded with the Best Tournament of the Year award and Best Golf Course award respectively.
The Shinhan Donghae Open received the Best Spectator Engagement award for the second year running as an acknowledgement for its digital initiative and activities catered for fans. — Bernama
