AmanahRaya signs corruption-free pledge

KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Raya Berhad (AmanahRaya) yesterday signed the Corruption-Free Pledge ( IBR) with the Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission ( MACC) in a bid to ensure that all the services rendered are free from elements of corruption.

Kuala Lumpur MACC director Datuk Han Chee Rull said the proactive initiative taken by AmanahRaya was aimed at protecting its integrity and delivering the message to the public that the the government­owned company was committed to being transparen­t in dischargin­g its duties.

“To make it more credible, AmanahRaya can also take the next initiative by achieving the ISO 37001 standard, which is an internatio­nal standard for corruption prevention management system,” he said at the signing ceremony here yesterday.

Establishe­d in 1921 and formerly known as Department of Public Trustees and Official Administra­tor, AmanahRaya offers services covering estate administra­tion, writing, keeping and implementa­tion of wills and consulting services.

In Melaka, all 74 federal and state government agencies in Melaka have also signed the Corruption-Free Pledge ( IBR) to avoid corruption and abuse of power.

Melaka MACC director Abu Talib Othman said the Melaka government, led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, was among the first few states which had answered MACC’s call to take and sign the IBR.

“Congratula­tions Melaka! The process for all 27 federal government agencies and 47 state government agencies in the state to take and sign the IBR are now 100 per cent completed,” he said at the state government’s monthly assembly at the Seri Negeri Copmplex, Ayer Keroh, here yesterday.

Also present were Idris, the state Cabinet line-up and 500 state civil servants. — Bernama
