Executive College holds induction course on CIDB
KUCHING: Executive College held an induction course on the Construction Industry Development Board ( CIDB) for its Construction Management and Quantity Surveying students recently.
A press release said the main objective of the In-House Safety Induction Course was to provide basic knowledge on safety and health to students apart from imparting legal requirements in relation to safety and health, and how to apply for the Green Card online.
The Green Card is important for students as they will be automatically covered by a special Takaful insurance scheme, which insures construction personnel against death and accidents.
Students were able to gain knowledge on safety at sites and awareness regarding safety and health issues, as well possible hazards and controls on site through videos and PowerPoint slides.
This was to ensure they are aware and cautious whenever at construction sites and to prepare them for industrial training.
Experienced speaker and CIDB Green Card trainer Simon Jalong conducted the course.
Simon has over 10 years’ experience in the field of safety and health, and is a member of the Malaysia Authorised Gas Tester Association ( Magta), Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health ( MSOSH), and a Sarawak Regional Safety and Health member.
He is also an entry supervisor for the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health ( Niosh) and Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia ( Dosh).
Executive College’s next intake for the Bachelor of Technology ( Hons) in Construction Management and Diploma in Quantity Surveying will begin on April 23.
Executive College gives 100 per cent job priority to graduates who apply for jobs offered by KTS Group of Companies.
The college at 2nd Floor, Crown Square, 88 Jalan Pending here is open from 8am to 5pm on weekdays.
