Knee brace promises relief for osteoarthritis sufferers
KUCHING: Spine & Joint (Kuching) is offering osteoarthritis sufferers a knee brace which it claims will give much relief to knee pain.
Head of physiotherapy Jonathan Goh said the knee brace is good news, particularly for those considering going for surgery.
“Degeneration of the knee results in knee pain and difficulty in walking. It is the most complaint affecting Malaysians of all walks of life and can result in expensive and complicated replacement surgery,” he said recently.
“There is now a wide range of well-researched supportive sports braces, which Spine & Joint uses and prescribes for patients with knee arthritis.”
According to Goh, unloader knee braces biomechanically address knee pain by creating more space between the bones of the knee joint. The brace’s dual Dynamic Force Straps ( DFS) apply a gentle force designed to reduce pressure on the sensitive bony surfaces of the knee, reducing pain and allowing increased mobility.
Unloader knee braces feature a lightweight, low-profile design that is barely noticeable and fits comfortably under clothing.
Utilising the SmartDosing dial with Boa Technology, one can easily change the dual DFS tension to adjust the degree of unloading, even through clothing.
The unloader knee brace can be worn for daily activities.
It is clinically proven to reduce the pain associated with unicompartmental osteoarthritis of the knee. It is said to help reduce
