Hasanah Bersama Rakyat at Penview Convention Centre a rousing success

-

KUCHING: Hasanah Bersama Rakyat (HBR), organised by Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah), was a rousing success with over 3,500 people thronging Penview Convention Centre.

The over 40 booths from government, non-government, government-linked and other agencies gave much to see and do, whether a hair cut or visual art.

It was launched by Environment and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar who is also Santubong MP.

After touring the event ground, Wan Junaidi said the response was so good that Khazanah should bring it to more places nationwide.

“I also suggested they hold it in another location in Santubong area, like Lundu, as that’s very far from here and residents there are not likely to come out all the way to Kuching,” he told reporters.

Khazanah has to take into account the fact that the population of Sarawak is scattered across the state, unlike Peninsular Malaysia, he said.

It succeeded in bringing happiness and useful services to the people.

“Whether you want to inquire about various services or register for one, they are all here. All activities show the government is paying attention to the people.”

Also present were Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, and Khazanah managing director Tan Sri Datuk Wira Azman Mokhtar.

Azman said they will bring the event to Kedah, Kelantan and other places.

Hari Hasanah is a day when Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah), together with Yayasan Hasanah, Yayasan Khazanah, Khazanah Research Institute, ThinkCity and its network of partners and staff contribute time and effort to do good deeds that benefit others.

Hari Hasanah encourages Malaysians to come together to do good for the benefit of others, and in the process, help foster togetherness and promote unity in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic society.

The inaugural Hari Hasanah held at Projek Perumahan Rakyat Seri Semarak, Kuala Lumpur on Sept 4 last year was attended by over 7,000 people followed by outreach programme Hasanah Bersama Rakyat (HBR) at Iskarnival, Iskandar Puteri, Johor which attracted about 10,000 visitors.
